NPP in court to jail NDC Chairman, urging Mahama to be burnt alive – Raymond Archer reminds NDC MPs

The former News Editor of the Enquirer Newspaper, Raymond Archer has sent a warm reminder to the opposition NDC Members of Parliament saying the MPs must be guided by past events unleashed on the NDC by the ruling NPP before they dream of considering working together in the 8th Parliament of Ghana.

In a post, the veteran journalist said “Almost all NDC MPs on the appointment committee were members of the previous JM [John Mahama] Government one way or the other. NPP maintains they were all corrupt and incompetent. If there is anyone who falsely believes that Ghanaians voted for NDC so that they can work together, I implore them to look at what happened in the past 4yrs, the NPP in power systematically tried and succeeded to a large extent to destroy all the pillars of the NDC.”

Supreme Court cites Dominic Ayine for contempt over his “predetermined agenda” comment

According to him, the NPP “demonized its [NDC] leaders, made them look like a bunch of idiots. As we speak, they are in court trying to jail the party’s chairman whilst they are openly urging JM to be burnt alive, whilst people who dare speak against their Candidate are quickly arrested.”

“Look at the way sitting MPs were beaten in Ayawaso, look at the level of terror unleashed on the NDC during the last election, look at the way businesses of people linked to the NDC have been destroyed, look at the way our MPs and JM suffered to raise funds for this election. Look at the way anything pro NDC has been systematically targeted and destroyed. Look at the way Dr Opuni has been targeted for prison. Look at the way Radio Gold has been silenced. Look at the way the NDC’s opportunity to form the next government has been snatched from them.” – the recount said events.

Ghana’s 8th Parliament has seen what never happened in its history before. Both the NDC and the NPP have 137 members making the house not have a majority. The situation became tougher when the MPs elected the former NDC Member of Parliament for Nadoli-Kaleo Constituency, Alban Bagbin as the Speaker of Parliament.

The President of Ghana whose second term is being challenged at the Supreme Court by Mr. John Mahama has since been calling for NDC and NPP to work together for the national interest.

They have demonized its leaders, made them look like a bunch of idiots. As we speak, they are in court trying to jail the party’s chairman whilst they are openly urging JM to be burnt alive, whilst people who dare speak against their Candidate are quickly arrested.

Look at the way sitting MPs were beaten in Ayawaso, look at the level of terror unleashed on the NDC during the last election, look at the way businesses of people linked to the NDC have been destroyed, look at the way our MPs and JM suffered to raise funds for this election. Look at the way anything pro NDC has been systematically targeted and destroyed. Look at the way Dr Opuni has been targeted for prison. Look at the way Radio Gold has been silenced. Look at the way the NDC’s opportunity to form the next government has been snatched from them.

If there is anything Ghanaians are looking for the NDC, it is to hold the NPP responsible for all the heinous things they have perpetrated in the past 4 years. I have heard false claims that Ghanaians voted massively for the NDC and took the majority away from the NPP because they wanted NDC and NPP to “work together for the national interest”. Why would anyone want to work with an “incompetent” and “corrupt” group like the NDC? If Ghanaians were happy with the NPP, they would have given them the majority to “continue” working in the “National Interest”. No one changes what is good. In any case, what is National Interest? Most of these NDC MPs campaigned on their Party’s manifesto. So what does “working together” mean? Does it mean the NDC MPs must abandon the policies voters who voted for them believe and pursue the policies of the NPP? That sounds and looks more like working for the NPP. If the NPP says, we all have equal members in the house so let us implement both manifestos, then it would make sense, anything less is WORKING for THEM rather than working with them.

There are so many Ghanaians who are expecting NDC MPs to disqualify a lot of the nominees. You have your only chance to hold your OPPONENTS to account, it is the only chance the NDC has to make their voters happy. I also urge you NEVER to forget and ABANDON all your members who deserve to be in parliament but are languishing at home because of what we all know happened on December 7. Keeping pushing for justice for them.
