Former Upper East Regional Minister and a lecturer at the University of Winneba, Prof. Avea Nsoh has said that President Joe Biden and America must shut up on Myanmar.
He wrote on Facebook:
You must drop your concept of spreading your democracy to the entire world. You have no moral right to castigate coup plotters in Myanmar when a sitting president in the person of Donald Trump staged a coup at the Capitol, the first of its kind in American history yet his Republican party Reps in the Senate are ready to block his impeachment.
Indeed, over 72 million voted for him to be President in the 2020 election. Of course he was elected by Americans for four years. If it’s about the Myanmar President supporting the military against Muslims, America is the #1 country perpetrating racial injustices against blacks and people of colour. Indeed your President Trump openly discriminated against Muslims and has refused to openly rebuke white supremacists and allied groups. Africa and others must be the ones talking about discrimination and racial injustices in Myanmar not America and some of its allies.
So America must first pick the LOG in its eye before it thinks of helping those with pieces of that log in others’ eyes . America must stop the holier than thou attitude!
Good bye to American democracy! President Joe Bidem must focus on building their own democracy and lost respect globally and leave Myanmar to repair theirs. You have the good will around the globe use it wisely Mr. President and stop the propaganda”.
