OPEN LETTER LETTER TO PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO
Let me begin by congratulating you on your re-election as the President of the Republic of Ghana. Secondly to thank you for taking care of the Party as has never happened before.
Having said that Mr. President, it is with a heavy heart that I write to you from my cottage at Klefe in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region. In fact, I’m writing to you from the village of Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, the immediate past Volta Regional Minister, whom I learned from a drunkard in my village that you intend to reappoint as the Volta Regional Minister.
Mr. President upon hearing the sad news, for almost 3 days and 3 nights now I’m unable to close my eyes as a patriot par excellence because of the fear of the known. The known fact that my beloved NPP in the Volta will break into pieces if you reappoint Dr. Letsa as the Regional Minister. Mr. President, if you care to know Dr. Letsa in your last four years in government did not do the little things that keep the Party machinery moving. For emphasis Dr. Letsa did not:
1. lend a helping hand to the Regional Party in any of its activities, this is an open secret
2. support any Constituency, not even his mother Constituency, Ho Central in the last four years, whether for registration or election purposes. You can verify from the Party Executives.
3. help in uniting the Party in the Region. He rather unleashed all his energies in dividing the rank of the Party. It is the grace of God and the hard work of our party people that brought us over 100,000 votes in the 2020 elections. Dr. Letsa practically contributed nothing to this moderate progress made by the Party in the Region.
Mr. President the naked truth is that Dr. Letsa’s stingy nature is alien to our tradition. Speak to the security around Dr. Letsa and you will know this fact. Speak to the media and you will be shocked to your bones marrow the negative view they hold about Dr. Letsa. Kindly find out also about the number of votes he, Dr. Letsa garnered for you in the just-ended election.
Mr. President my unsolicited advice to you is that do not reappoint Dr. Letsa because it will divide the Party further. I know you are a listening President so listen to me.
Yours sincerely in-the- service-of-the-NPP
The Friend of the Klefe Drunkard.
