October 4, 2013/Accra: Google Ghana has joined Googlers around the world to mark the Google for Entrepreneurs Week in Accra.
The programme which seeks to empower startup businesses brought together 50 selected young entrepreneurs in Ghana and 10 mentors from the areas of finance, telecommunication, IT, Marketing, and Human development.
In an opening address, Estelle Akofio-Sowah, Google‘s Country Manager for Ghana pointed out that Google is passionate about start-ups and is doing all it can to support young entrepreneurs to take their businesses to the higher level.
“Google began as a startup in a garage and remains a startup at heart. We are committed to helping build a vibrant ecosystem for startups and enabling the next generation of entrepreneurs to be successful.” She said
“We are excited to have you meet with someone from our Google team to help your venture get to the next level”- she added.
The 50 selected young entrepreneurs were taken through series of speed mentoring section in the areas of Google For Reaching Customers; Marketing/PR/Customer Service; Driving Sales/e-Commerce; Human Capital and Operations Management; and Finance and Investment.
The speed sections presented an opportunity for the participants to interact with the business leaders on practical business ethic and providing solution to the basic problems that face start up.
Korsi Senyo, CEO of Senyo Global (www.senyoglobal.com), SEMPEG Consult (www.sempeg.com) and Chief Editor of Awake Africa Magazine who is one of the selected young entrepreneurs for the programme told Awake Africa Business, he is very honoured to be among the select young entrepreneurs and thanked Google for providing them with the opportunity to enhance their various businesses.
