A youth group in the Hohoe Municipality in the Volta Region of Ghana, Dzabe Youth Development Association (DYDA) is set to register over 100 children on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) on this year’s annual GbiWalks4Life Health Walk 2017.
This year’s event which is the 3rd since initiated in 2015 is scheduled for April 15, 2017 will bring together thousands of citizens of Gbi for the Easter festival.
The GbiWalks4Life Health Walk, according to the organizers is to “serve as a platform to bring the Youth from the Gbi towns of the Hohoe Municipality together to know each other and ultimately to share ideas for the development of our area.”
Speaking to Awake News, Nelson Mensah Adusu, a leading member of the group said they are working hard to make this year’s event a very memorable one as they target to register about 100 children on the NHIS.
“We are pulling resources together to register, FOR FREE, a minimum of 100 children (primary 1 – JHS3) on the National Health Insurance Scheme. This exercise will take place on the E.P. Park of Gbi Wegbe right after the walk.” – He said
Dzabe Youth Development Association (DYDA), formerly called Dzabe Junior Youth Association (DJYA) was formed in 1995 by a group of student citizens of Dzabe, a clan of Gbi-Wegbe of the Hohoe district, residing in Accra.
