Katanga, officially known as University Hall and alluded to as the heart of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, is one of the very vibrant all-male halls of residence in Ghana’s traditional universities. Over the years, they have been in the news for all kinds of reasons; notably, protesting against perceived unfavourable policies of university administration, clashes with other halls and on a seemingly quiet side – social projects they carry out mostly in deprived schools from time to time.
