Let me use this opportunity to express publicly what I have already done privately.

Hearty congratulations to Hon Abla Dzifa Gomashie for the victory obtained in the very closely fought 24th August 2019 primaries.

Let me also congratulate Hon Foga for the sterling performance in this cliffhanger elections.

Honourable mentions also go to my dear brothers Nicholas Worclachie Ezo (aka Anti Matter) and Joseph Kwasi Nyavi. Last but not the least, congrats to my sister Mrs Caroline Kudah-Parker. You all made it a great contest.

The winners have rejoiced- The non winners have suffered disappointment- that’s the nature of the adversarial politics we have chosen as a country and as party. You win some and lose some.

The history of Ketu South however shows that even in elections where the winner has won with a sizeable margin, there are often grievances that linger all the way to the main national elections. This history makes it particularly imperative that we do whatever we can to quickly mend fences because of the unprecesented close nature of this particular election that very much reveals a constituency that is electorally split right in the middle.

I am extremely gratified by the magnanimity of Hon Dzifa Gomashie in her victory statement and also by the reciprocal gesture of Foga Nukunu, the closest competitor. I am sure we will have similar moves from the other 3 candidates as well.

These are the public moves. Beyond these, will be the real work behind the scenes, which will help bring the complete healing and the unification ahead of 2020.

We need not repeat the sad mistakes that happened ahead of the 2004, 2012 and 2016 elections. Let us use the lessons of the past to help build a brighter future for our beloved home.

The NDC family nationwide continues to look up to us. Together we can.

Congrats to the constituency executives, the zonal executives, the election directorate, all delegates and all members of Ketu South NDC for a job well done.

God bless us all and grant us the victory we seek for NDC and Ghana in the year 2020.

Hon Fifi Fiavi Kwetey
MP – Ketu South Constituency
