The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afadzato South, James Etornam Flolu, has on Thursday urged school authorities of the Have Gborxome basic school to adopt a maintenance culture attitude in handling a newly built classroom block that has been built for the school to enable it stand the test of time.
According to the DCE, the maintenance of the facility will lead to an improvement in quality education.
Hon. Flolu made the call at a ceremony where he commissioned and handed over a 3-unit classroom block to the school authorities.
Though the cost of the project has not been disclosed, Hon. Flolu revealed, that the project was funded from the District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT) fund.
In his address, the DCE indicated that the project was supervised and monitored by the assembly.
“The Afadzato South district assembly facilitated the acquisition of land for the project and also procured contractor, supervised and monitored the completion of the project.”
The six (6) months project is aimed at promoting access to basic education in the community and ease congestion in the Have Gborxome basic school.
Hon. Flolu commended the immerse contribution by President H.E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo whose vision is to make education accessible and free to the people of Ghana a reality.
The newly constructed facility has been furnished with mono desks, tables and chairs for the teachers and pupils.
Also at the ceremony was Afadzato South District Coordinating Director, the District Education Director, Chiefs, elders and other relevant stakeholders.
