The Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the North Tongu Constituency, Godwin Edzor Fenuku has warned Awake News’ Editor, Efo Korsi Senyo to stop any publication about the North Tongu Constituency whiles dismissing rumors that he may not be able to seek re-election in the upcoming election.

Awake Election Watch‘s report earlier today indicated that Mr. Godwin Edzor Fenuku who was enstooled as Togbe Komla Sakpiti V of Awadiwoe-Kome, Bakpa, a sub-chief of Bakpa Traditional Area in the Central Tongu District of the Volta Region may not be able to contest in the upcoming election hence paving way for some four candidates namely, Kumah Quashie – the current constituency deputy youth organizer, Kennedy John Gozey, Mr. Jacob Gallah and one Vorsah to battle for the youth top job in the constituency.

Mr. Fenuku stated strongly without mincing any word that it was wrong for the said publication to suggest that because he has been installed as a chief, he may not contest in the upcoming election.

“You cannot draw conclusions that because I’m installed as a chief, I am not going to contest” – He told Awake News’ Efo Korsi Senyo

Mr. Fenuku rubbished the claims that there are “allegations of a disjointed youth front, lack of proper and purposeful direction for the youth, and weak leadership are likely to dominate the campaign messages.” adding it cannot be true that “the North Tongu youth are clamoring to find for themselves a leadership that will propel the party to higher heights for victory in 2024” because that exactly he has provided for the youth front.

Whiles noting that he has a lot of media platforms and does not need the Awake News platform to air his rejoinder or correct the alleged negative and false publications about him went ahead and outlined some of his achievements including paying school fees for some people in the constituency.

“I have served the party [NDC] for many year including being branch youth organizer for eight years and that is why even though those who contested me in the last elections used a lot of money, I still won” – He said

For him, the Constituency is a very peaceful one and does not need any publication that will bring confusion.
