A shooting incident at the office of the National Democratic Congress at Amakom in the Ashanti Regional has left one dead and another battling for his life at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
This was confirmed by the Ashanti Region Secretary of the NDC, Kwame Zu.
Information available indicates that the shoot-out was carried out by some unidentified men spotted on motorbikes who fled upon successfully executing the task.
“The incident occurred while a meeting between the National Chairman, the General Secretary, a Deputy General Secretary and the Regional Executive Committee were ongoing. Some men on Motorbike wielding guns attacked a gathering outside, shot indiscriminately and sped off,” a statement signed by the regional secretary disclosed.
“We request the police to carry out a thorough investigation into the matter and bring the perpetrators to book,” the statement adds.
