Speaking in an interview on Akoma FM, the ex-Asante Kotoko coach there needs to be a long-term strategy and that means giving the coach more time to create a culture.

“A coach has been appointed for a considerable tenure, indicating a solid plan in place. It’s imperative for us, as a nation, to exercise patience as the coach instils his expertise into the team and strives for excellence.”

Admittedly, C. K Akonnor who coached the Stars between 2020 and 2021 said the team is facing challenges right now. Based on the challenges, he said there is the necessity for a serious rebuilding efforts which he said should make us ready ahead of the next AFCON in 2025.

“The team is undoubtedly facing challenges presently. It is crucial to rebuild from scratch; ensuring smooth operations. Hopefully, by the time we vie for World Cup qualification and the next AFCON, we would have elevated our standards.”

According to the former Vfl Woslfburg midfielder, if the team is to succeed then the negative energy surrounding the team needs to be shed. He said that can be achieved through “consistent success and commanding victories.”

“We urgently need to reverse the current tide of negativity surrounding the team. The only way to do so is through consistent success and commanding victories. Our immediate focus should be on starting strong, winning matches, and showcasing an attractive style of play. I have confidence in Otto Addo’s capability to achieve this.”
