Non-Governmental Organisations, Org. 360 and Green Legend Volunteers are partnering to embark on a Charity Aid Project at the Akropong School for the Blind in the Eastern Region.
The event scheduled for February 16, 2019 is themed, ‘Good sanitation and water aid donation’.
Activities lined up for the project include ‘Time with the blind’ where resource persons will be educating the students on the importance of a clean environment.
A clean up exercise will be organized and items will be donated to support the Akropong School for the Blind.
The students will also enjoy side attraction activities such as swimming, social interaction and a visit to landmarks.
The Charity Aid Project is being supported by Abass Official Foundation, Kove Photography and Steeze Channel.
About the Green Legend Volunteers (GLV)
The Green Legend Volunteers (GLV) is an NGO of passionate sanitation volunteers with the aim of educating people to develop good attitude towards sanitation to create a new habit of keeping the environment clean.
The organisation organises clean up exercises and advocate for the enforcement of sanitation laws.
The GVL visits schools, churches and homes to educate Ghanaians. It also uses social media or posters to achieve its purpose.
The organization believes that though several clean up exercises have been championed by many organizations and individuals, the challenges with sanitation persist as a result of bad habit, laziness, lack of law enforcement, poor waste system, ignorant and many others.
