According to Owusu, a resident of Kwaben who spoke to Awake News’ Efo Korsi Senyo earlier in an interview said, the four, who are now deceased were sent to a small scale mining site (not galamsey) around [ads1]8:30pm yesterday night to dispatch some equipments.

Owuso said that according to the site owner, when his four deceased workers were going to the sites, they called him and reported that another vehicle was following them – that is almost mid-way into journey. The site owner then asked them to stop where they were and that he was going to follow them. The site owner after some few minutes could not connect with their their phones.

He then raised an alarm, but the four were not found in the night until this morning when they were found dead in the mining pitch sustaining injuries on their heads, neck, mouth and other parts of their bodies.

Owusu said some of the residents had alleged to have seen one of the Operation Vanguard’s vehicles moving to the direction of the incident last night.

However, the Deputy Team Leader of Eastern Regional Operation Vanguard, DSP Bismarck Achab in an interview with Daily Guide’s Daniel Bampoh denied their team ever undergoing any operations there in the night let alone killing anybody as is been speculated.

He stated that they are even under strict rules of not doing operations in the night and also added that in circumstances that they are death as a result of their operations, they will have to announce.

DSP Bismarck Achab has therefore charged the public to direct their questions as to the circumstances surrounding the death of the four and those behind the act to the local police who he believes are investigating the matter.
