A senior medical who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Profecy Scientific Herbal Clinic, Dr Elijah Mensah Bonsu has revealed that many Ghanaians have died out of Hypertension while 35% of the adult population are living with the silent killer disease unaware.
Dr. Bonsu added that Hypertension has been the leading cause of premature preventable deaths among other implications.
According to him, Hypertension is driving huge number of preventable deaths and disabilities from cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) locally and globally.
Dr Bonsu is urging the Ghanaian Society of Cardiology (GSC) for an urgent need to re-strategize to diagnose all hypertensive cases for effective management to avert more preventable deaths and disabilities and enhance efforts on prevalence control continue.
