Mahama orders for revocation of Diplomatic passports from Akufo Addo appointees

President John Dramani Mahama has directed the ministry of Foreign Affairs to recall all Diplomatic and Service Passports issued under former president Nana Akufo-Addo led administration for review.

In a letter issued on 14, January 2025, the presidency indicated that the move is part of efforts to enhance the integrity of Ghana’s official travel documents and diplomatic engagements.
The letter addressed to the Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, by Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, set January, 24, 2025 as the deadline for all holders of diplomatic passports to submit them to the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The presidency directed the ministry to properly review all the passports and ensure they march the current criteria for issuance.
