The Managing Director of the State Transport Corporation, Nana Akomea, has criticized the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, for his lack of credibility.
According to the former Member of Parliament for Okaikwei South, Mr. Mahama’s rhetoric is merely a repetition of his 2012 promises to Ghanaians. He believes that the former president has nothing new or beneficial to offer after being given the opportunity to lead the country for six years.
Speaking on the “Super Morning Show” on JoyNews, Mr. Akomea said “the question that every Ghanaian should ask themselves is that, ‘What is the credibility of John Mahama?’ Because many of the things that he is saying today, he told us this same things in 2012 when he became the President after the unfortunate lost of a sitting president, and when he was campaigning”.
The former Minster for Information added that “many of the things that he is saying today, that he is going to bring 24-hour economy, he told us the same things in 2012, we gave him the opportunity, he had the best opportunity of any first time President in this 4th republic”.
“He is the only President whose mandate was not renewed, so he didn’t perform on his promises, he didn’t perform. He is now saying the same thing, so where is the credibility?” he asked
The STC Managing Director argued that the former President would only be remembered for mismanaging the economy and for widespread corruption, adding that, “So what is the alternative? The alternative cannot be John Mahama who has been given the longest time as vice president and failed.”
