In the Chest of a Woman is not about breasts but value – actor Louis

The Africa Art Network has denied claims that the upcoming stage play titled ‘In The Chest Of A Woman’ by Efo Kodjo Mawugbe is talking about the breasts of women.  Contrary to public opinion, the group said the play explores the values women bring into society.

In an exclusive interview on Shy TV with Ishmael Morrison Tsegah, Mr Louis an actor in the play said the play elaborates on the importance of women’s formal and informal labour that can transform a community from a relatively autonomous society to a participant in the national affairs/economy.

According to him, women’s involvement in community affairs is immeasurable despite significant obstacles. He said as played out in the play, women’s involvement with the king witnessed an extended family’s lifeline and more community development for future generations.

The stage play features prominent Ghanaian comedians and will play at the National Theater on 3rd and 4th May 2024, 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm each day.
