The District Chief Executive for the Agortime-Ziope District, Hon. D.D. Dzorkpe, has reinstated government’s commitment towards the establishment of the Agotime Kente Village at Kpetoe.
According to him, it’s the government’s utmost priority to see the very [ads1]end of this project since it will benefit the people to a greater level.
“Government is still committed to ensuring the completion of this project. Portions of the proposed ‘1million, 1District’ will be dedicated to the Kente Village”.
“The Minister has assured us of government’s commitment and we’re waiting for it. For us at the Assembly, we are supporting this year’s Agbamevorza with an initial amount of Gh¢ 10000.00,” he added.
The DCE equally added his voice to the issues surrounding the cancellation of last year’s grand durbar of the Agbamevorza, which he said the Assembly will make sure the needed security measures are put in place before, during and after the festival.
“The Agbamevorza has gone beyond the borders of Ghana. We were not too happy about the events of last year. We want people to come and invest in us and the best way of pulling them to us is the Agbamevorza.”
