George Adjavukewe, the dead man that petitioned Nana Addo to remove EC Boss

Folks, I came across this and thought I could bring it to your attention too. On Facebook today, read on one of my friend’s wall

Senco Homes

“It’s only in Ghana that a dead man ‘rises’ from the belly of the grave to ‘write a petition’ for the removal EC Chair, ‘forgets’ to sign, and returns to his grave. And shockingly, the CJ’s Committee saw nothing wrong with the fraud committed.”

I found this as very interesting and [ads1]quickly wanted to find out if indeed the deceased person was one of the petitioners that led to the removal of the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Charlotte Osei. I went on the internet to see if I could get any information on the issues only to realized that I had earlier today published the full address of the Mr. Thaddeus Sory, the lawyer for the EC Boss. In the 92 pages document, I found this name, George Adjavukewe, who the Lawyer Sory had made reference to in his address that during the cross-examination Mr. Forson Ampofo, the EC staff representing the rest of the 16 petitioners saying “George Adjavukewe” was a staff of at the Electoral Commission but died several years ago before the petitioner was drafted.

Interestingly, the deceased Adjavukewe’s name was part of the 17 petitioners who petitioned the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, and that same petition referred to the Cheif Justice.

It was also shocking to read that throughout the hearing, Mr. Forson Ampofo could not produce any of the other ’16’ concerned workers of the EC who supposedly signed the petition.

Also, during the cross-examination, Mr Ampofo was “asked if he signed the petition which was submitted to the President. He answered in the affirmative only for the petition to be shown to him without a single signature on it. When he was asked if he had a copy of the petition, he said the petition was with his lawyer”

It clearly also appeared Mr. Ampofo had no personal knowledge of the content of the petitioner and the evidence he submitted in support of his claims:

Read some excerpts of Cross-Examination of Mr. Ampofo:

Q. Are you aware that it was Dr. Asamoah who wrote to Super Tech Ltd there was the need to abrogate that contract?

A. I don’t know and I don’t believe that is the truth. If that is so, he would not have told me the contract was abrogated by the respondent.

Q. I put it to you that it was Dr. Asamoah who sent an email dated 17th August, 2015 informing them about the abrogation of the contract, and copied same to the respondent and her two deputies.

A. That is contrary to what he Dr. Asamoah told me, so when he comes here he will answer.

Q. I further put it to you that the Director of Finance Dr. Asamoah admitted that the contracts that were abrogated were illegal contracts.

A. I don’t know that. He will answer when he comes here.

Q. I, therefore, put it to you that your testimony that the respondent unilaterally abrogated the contract is untrue.

A. If that is it means Dr. Asamoah did not tell me the truth, and he has to explain when he comes here.”
