EC’s limited voter registration is the headquarters of fraud and flaws – Volta Region NDC

Mr Mathias Alagbo popularly known as Kabila, the Volta Regional Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress, NDC,  amidst the heavy downpour on Thursday toured some centres of the limited voter registration in the region. His mission was to observe and engage with residents, first-time voters, and party activists.

Mr Alagbo said he initiated the move to receive first-hand information on the ground. He said after observing and interacting with the many voters, he believes in the chances of the NDC. According to Kabila, former President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC have the character, track record, capacity and competence to rescue Ghanaians from the Dr Mahamudu Bawumia-led Economic Management Team’s economic hardships.

Mathias Alagbo said John Mahama’s main contender, Dr Bawumia is against the liberation of Ghana from its current life-threatening economic conditions.

Addressing party sympathizers at the Akatsi South Electoral Commission Office, Alagbo said Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has been trying to sow the seed of discord in the country and doesn’t deserve even a single vote from Ghanaians.

During his tour, Mr Alagbo visited various registration centres including the South Tongu, Akatsi South, and Agortime Ziope constituencies to engage with Electoral Commission officers, and first-time voters, and observe the registration process.

He assured his party activists present of the NDC’s readiness to channel more campaign arsenals to the constituencies ahead of the 2024 elections aside from the motorbikes given to them. Mr Alagbo took advantage of the opportunity to appeal to the branch executives of the National Democratic Congress to mobilize eligible voters for the registration.

Also, he encouraged the Electoral Commission officials to conduct the registration process efficiently, emphasizing the importance of citizen engagement and the promotion of democratic values.

Meanwhile, Mr Johnson Samlafo, Deputy Youth Organizer of the Volta Regional Youth Wing stated that they battle ready and will not accept “the nonsense” happening in other regions.

Mr Samlafo spent the whole of Wednesday at the Akatsi South registration centre to monitor the exercise and urged every NDC member to take the registration exercise as a world cup.

The limited voter registration exercise began on Tuesday, May 7th and is scheduled to conclude on May 27th, 2024 at the District Offices of the Electoral Commission nationwide. Mr Samlafo said the exercise received low publicity and called it the headquarters of fraud and flaws to disenfranchise eligible Ghanaians in the stronghold of the NDC.
