Eight unknown assailants who attacked and shot five persons including the Chief at Adanse Praso in the Assin North District have been nabbed by the Youth in the Community.
The armed robbers were arrested on the night of Friday, June 17 on Cocoa farm in the area.
The gunmen have been handed over to the New Edubeasi Police for an investigation to commence.
Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan few days reported that armed robbers not less than 30 have attacked the Chief and residents of Adanse Praso, ransacked the Palace forcefully pushing the chiefs and residents to run into a bush leading to the shooting of five Residents who are currently on adminission responding to treatment at the Assin Praso Presbyterian Hospital.
Some Youth from Adanse Praso who have traveled outside the town hearing the unfortunate incident returned home in their numbers and supported the watchdog committee members to catch the eight armed robbers while pursuing the others.
Residents are however calling on the Inspector General of Police to beef up security in the area as they are leaving in trepidation and panic so they can go about their daily activities in the community for peace to prevail and travail.
According to them, their foodstuffs are rotting since people from the nearby Communities who normally purchase from them are now in state of fear due to issues of insecurity in the area.
The Adontenhen of the Community Nana Otuo Acheampong also urged the Inspector General of Police to assist the community with more police personnel to be posted there so they can assist and improve security in the area.
