Media personality Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah has revealed that national security operatives are going after him.
The outspoken journalist, known for his fearless criticism of governments, has been a thorn in the flesh of the current John Mahama-led administration.
Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah’s troubles began when he launched his social media-based radio platform, “For The Records,” less than two months into the new government’s tenure.
The platform has been a vehicle for him to expose alleged wrongdoing and corruption within the government. One such instance was his questioning of national security over seized containers of cash and gold at Amasaman.
In a public alert posted on his social media page, Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah revealed that national security operatives descended upon the airport, searching for him.
He expressed his readiness to cooperate with the authorities, stating, “If the authorities genuinely believe they have a case against me, they should invite me for questioning… rather than resorting to these outdated, Machiavellian tactics designed to instill fear and intimidate citizens.”
Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah’s plight has sparked outrage among his followers, with many condemning the government’s alleged attempts to silence him.
The Radio Presenter has vowed not to be cowed, affirming, “We shall stand up for our Constitutional rights and uphold the law without being bullied.”
This is not Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah’s first brush with controversy. He has been an outspoken critic of governments past and present, previously slamming Captain Smart for his role in the National Cathedral project.
