A middle-aged woman was assaulted and publicly humiliated in a market in Nzema after being accused of using a counterfeit GHC200 note to purchase goods.
Eyewitnesses reported that traders and onlookers, including children, surrounded the woman, chanting “fraudster” and pushing her around as she was paraded through the market.
