Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro, considered by many to be one of the greatest footballers of all time, has announced that he is likely to retire from football at his current club, Al-Nassr.

When asked about when he will bow out of the game, the five times Ballon d’Or winner said “I don’t know if I will retire soon, in two or three years… but probably I will retire at Al-Nassr. I’m very happy at this club, I feel good in this country too, I love playing in Saudi Arabia. I want to continue”.

He joined the Saudi Arabian side in January 2023 in a record deal worth $75 million a season/year. Ronaldo has since won some trophies and awards at the club.

The football icon debunked the perception that he would pursue coaching after retirement. He said “It’s difficult to think that I will be a manager one day. In my mind, I’m not considering to be the head coach of any football team. So… I don’t even think about it”.

“I see my future doing things out of football,” he said.
