DCE offers BECE candidates free meal

The Akatsi North District Assembly, has began an initiative to feed all candidates sitting for this year’s BECE within the district, throughout the period of the examination.

The District Chief Executive of Dr. Prince Sodoke Amuzu, announced this when he visited the Avesco examination center on Tuesday.

He told the pupils, they would be served a hot meal and water for the period of the examination, adding that the teachers and the invigilators would also be served a meal.

According to the DCE, the District Assembly would as usual, award the best student and school, when the results are released.

The DCE assured the pupils of government’s preparedness to absorb them into the Free SHS system, after a successful completion and urged them to do well in the exams.

A total of 517,332 are sitting for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination across the country.

Out of the number, the Akatsi North District has a total of 478 from 28 schools sitting for the examination.
