24hr economy is simply doable, good news for Ghana – John Gatsi

John Gatsi

The Dean of the University of Cape Coast Business School, Prof. John Gatsi has said the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s 24hour Economy proposal “will apart from repositioning the productive capacity of the country, expand the creative and innovative capacity of our army of entrepreneurs that may put the spotlight on towns and cities as well as sectors least contemplated.”

According to the economist in a Facebook post, “24hr economy was stated as a policy in the 2020 people’s manifesto [of the NDC] and “emphasize in the policy agenda leading to the 2024 election has received rapturous acceptance.”

He emphasized that the policy “has no resemblance of copying. It is a brand new well thought out plan to promote productivity , ‘employment , efficiency and growth.”

“Any rushed nuclear report will not change the fact that it is original. Indeed the 24hr economy will need power generation and infrastructure. Relate the so-called excess capacity.” – he added

For him, 24hr economy is simply doable and embraced by majority of Ghanaians, “if you don’t come on board you may suffer from the “exclusion of the unqualified”

The police since its announcement by the flagbearer of the NDC, former President Mahama has become one of the most topical discussion. The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by Vice President Dr. Bawumia seeks to discredit the idea but many Ghanaians and prominent Ghanaians has added their voice saying the policy is workable and can bring a lot relief to Ghanaians.
