The MP for Zebilla, Ebenezer Alumire Ndebilla, has rejected claims that the Bawku conflict worsened during President Mahama’s earlier term in office.

His response follows allegations from the Minority caucus that the ongoing conflict has worsened under the current administration, citing a rise in casualties and property damage.

Speaking on Channel One Newsroom, Ndebilla described such claims as misleading, asserting that the conflict has escalated significantly over the past three to four years under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

He pointed to increased incidents in the region, including recent clashes that led to deaths and the burning of private residences belonging to MPs Mahama Ayariga and Lardi Ayii Ayamba.

“Peace-building is a process,” Ndebilla emphasized, urging Ghanaians to approach the issue with patience and unity. He reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting lasting peace efforts and called for collective action to address the long-standing conflict.
