Dreams FC fought to a goalless draw against Zamalek today Sunday in the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final first leg in Egypt at the Cairo international Stadium after a trailing in possession.
This is a result that will not ease the pressure on Zamalek as former champions since they will travel to Ghana to face Dreams FC on their home soil. Zamalek looked erratic despite dominating the ball in Cairo.
Zamalek forward Jaziri got frustrated at the front though he made some brilliant strikes but was denied by Agbasi.
Despite Dreams having no prior experience in this level of competition and considered the underdogs coach Abdul Karim Zito can now boast of executing the unthinkable.
Going into the game, Dreams were giving odds of 17 cedis and their opponents 1.18 cedis and a draw of 5.40 cedis, this clearly showed they had been considered to lose across all betting platforms. Statistics on the field pointed out to it as well though possession in football doesn’t necessarily translate into winning, Zamalek had a possession of 64% and Dreams 36%.
