The team which was well received by the market women encouraged the Ho market participants to have faith in Mahama’s 24-hour economy initiative. According to the NDC Youth, if implemented, the policy would be the game changer to resurrect the dead economy the “clueless, corrupt and nepotistic” Nana Addo and Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia NPP-led government has superintended over.

The market visitation by Mr Alagbo and the volunteer corps comes in the wake of his tour of various registration centres in the region to assess the progress, challenges, and opportunities in the ongoing registration process.

Mr Alagbo charged parents to allow their wards who are eligible to vote to participate in the ongoing limited voter registration exercise. He said that is the only way to bring John Mahama back as President to rescue the country from the economic agony.

In his response to the numerous complaints expressed by the market women on the issues of the escalating cost of living, hyperinflation and the difficulties of the current business environment, Comrade Alagbo assured them of President Mahama’s plans to get Ghana Working again by tackling issues of the economy head-on. He mentioned initiatives establishing a Women’s Bank to support women in small and medium-scale businesses and industries as things the NDC would do to support the economy.

Comrade Alagbo posited that businesses have long suffered from the ineptness and incompetency of the Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia-led Economic Management team which saw the depreciation of the Ghana cedis from GHS3.00 to $1.00 in 2016 to GHS15 to $1.00 in 2024.

Mr. Alagbo, charged the market queens and sellers to persevere and have faith in H.E. John Dramani Mahama and the NDC to restore the country which has lost its identity, values and hope under the current regime. He said the NDC will provide a path of prosperity, progress and peace. The Volta NDC youth leader reassured the market women of John Mahama’s commitment to their concerns and improving their livelihoods if given the nod to rule the country again.
