The Young Democrats say they strongly believe flagbearer elect of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama will emerge victorious in the upcoming general elections in 2020 just like he massively won the presidential primaries of his party.
According to the Democrats, Mahama’s victory affirms their belief that he is “the best person and the safest pair of hands to lead the NDC into the 2020 elections”.
In a statement signed by their Convener, Eric Nii Odartey Lamptey(Niibinii), the Young Democrats applauded the former President for winning the flagbearership race saying it is a “well deserved victory” as expected.
“We also believe you will win the 2020 elections massively to continue your “changing lives and transforming Ghana” agenda. Your victory has rekindled the hope of all Ghanaians,” the group stated.
“There is no time for merry making. The job has just started. Your overwhelming victory is also an indication of the trust and confidence the rank and file of the NDC have in your candidature and ability to give them victory. And this cannot be compromised. We urge you to as a matter of urgency bring all akatamansonians under one umbrella and begin the journey towards recapturing power from this clueless and highly confused NPP government,” the Young Democrats stressed.
They added, “It is also our expectation that all other hopefuls and their supporters will rally behind our new leader for a resounding victory in 2020. Congratulations ones again for a landslide victory that has sent shivers down the spine of a nonperforming government whose days in office are numbered.”
