Rev. Ntim Fordjour, the Member of Parliament for Assin South, has come under fire from Ghanaian media personality Captain Smart for refusing to cooperate with authorities regarding his allegations involving the two suspicious flights that landed at Kotoka International Airport.
According to the Onua TV host, Rev. Ntim’s behavior in the increasing tensions between the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the government reflects that of someone under the influence of alcohol.
“Rev. Ntim Fordjour is behaving like someone who is intoxicated,” he slammed.
Captain Smart’s remarks come after officials from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) stormed the residence of Rev. Ntim Fordjour to arrest him.
Captain Smart stated that regardless of Ntim Fordjour’s position, he must accept the NIB’s invitation to respond to inquiries about his knowledge of the airlines.
“You are an MP, but that doesn’t make you superior to anyone. You made an allegation, go offer them any information you know or reveal the names of the people engaged in the alleged cocaine dealings, and then you say you won’t attend; why won’t you go? he questioned on the Onua Maakye show monitored by Awake News.
The development comes after the Assin South legislator said that two suspicious flights landed at Kotoka International Airport under conditions that suggested suspected money laundering and drug trafficking, sparking days of political outrage.
Although government representatives have brushed the accusations aside as unfounded, the opposition NPP has expressed worries that its members who discuss delicate national issues may be intimidated.
