YoHRA launches Ghana Youth Human Rights Conference tomorrow

[dropcap]A[/dropcap] continental human rights organization, Youth For Human Rights Africa, (YoHRA) is set to officially launch the first ever Human Rights Conference tomorrow, Wednesday, August 2, 2017, 10:00am at the Ghana International Press Centre in Accra-Ghana.

[ads1]The conference, 2017 GHANA YOUTH HUMAN RIGHTS CONFERENCE which is scheduled for December 11, 2017, Accra is on the theme “Promoting Fundamental Human Rights; A Catalyst for Socio-economic Development in a Free and Just Society”

According to a statement signed by Mr. Christopher Ankou, the Communication Director of YoHRA, the launch of the conference is to give the leadership of YoHRA the opportunity to brief media and the general public about the December 11, 2017 conference.

Mr. Ankou disclosed that the upcoming launch will kick start a series of human rights promotion activities in Ghana and Africa. He also intimated that YoHRA will also roll out membership drive to get committed human rights oriented groups and individuals as Human Rights Ambassadors who will ensure that human rights education is carried out across Ghana and eventually the African continent.

Mr. Ken Kadrah-Huletey, the Director of Programmes also revealed that many other African countries will start off by opening country chapters with the YoHRA Afriproject after the launch.

“So far YoHRA has been introduced to over sixty (60) Embassies in Ghana including Embassies of all African countries.” he told Awake News

Mr. Kadrah-Huletey also disclosed that the Deputy Executive Secretary of YoHRA, Dr. Angela Lamptey, has started engagements with the African Union Commission with regards the project.

The Youth for Human Rights Africa (YoHRA) headquartered in Accra-Ghana was established in New York during the August 2016 International Human Rights Conference with the renowned Human Rights Activist and Lawyer, Francis-Xavier Sosu as its first President.
