A student journalist and a fast-rising sensational model, Laura Mills who was appointed Human Rights Ambassador for Youth for Human Rights Africa (YoHRA) in August 2017 has successfully established the Ghana Institute of Journalism Chapter of the continental organization and is expected to be launched today at GIJ in Accra.
The President of YoHRA, Mr. Francis-Xavier Sosu, the patron of [ads1]YoHRA GIJ, Lawyer Tanko Zakariah Musah are expected to attention launching.
Speaking to Awake News, Amb. Laura Mills said she sees her new role as Human Rights Ambassador as an opportunity to help project the right of the vulnerable hence the desires to push for the establishment of YoHRA on campus to help students get to further understand issues bordering their rights and responsibility.
Ms. Mills hinted that is first looking at how she can help protect the rights of women under the Trokoshi system in the Volta Region of Ghana.
Youth for Human Rights Africa is a Non-Governmental Human Rights Organization registered in Ghana under the laws of Ghana. The aim of the Organization is to serve as a medium to promote the observance of Fundamental Human Rights in Africa by the use of National, Regional, African and the United Nations Human Rights Instruments.
