Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, accompanied by some members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), paid a courtesy visit to traditional authorities in Nungua.
The visit, which is Yohonu’s first official visit to traditional authorities since become IGP, took place on Thursday, 3rd April 2025.
In a press statement sighted by Awake News, the police chief and his team first met with Nungua Mantse, Oboade Notse King Professor Odaifio Welentsi XXXIII, and later met with the Gborbu Wulormor, Nuumo Borketey Laweh, to foster stronger ties between the service and traditional leadership.
During the visit, Mr. Yohonu expressed gratitude for the Nungua Traditional Council’s continued support and recognized their role in maintaining peace and security in the Greater Accra region.
He emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between the police service and traditional authorities to further enhance community safety and uphold law and order.
In the IGP’s delegation were Director-General/Private Security Organizations, COP/Mr. Daniel Afriyie; Director-General/Services, COP/Dr. Ernest Owusu; Director-General/Finance, and a few others.
