Bernard Mornarh, National Chairman of the People’s National Congress (PNC), has alleged that the thugs who visited violence on citizens at the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election were paid GHc500 each.
He alleged that it was information he picked from a reliable source, and “so you see why I have maintained that vigilantism is now a form of employment in Ghana?” he rhetorized.
He argued on an Accra-based radio station on Saturday that government has taken advantage of the vulnerability of the teeming unemployed youth to prosecute its illegal agenda on persons who strongly do not agree with it (government) on policies and principles.
“The c500 paid to each of these hoodlums is what they would depend on until another month. If vigilantism is not employment under this government, then, what else is it?” Bernard Mornarh asked.
