World Cup Qualifiers: Egyptian referee to officiate Mali vs Ghana match

FIFA has appointed Egyptian referee Omar Amin Mohamed Amin Mohamed as the centre referee for the Mali vs Ghana World Cup qualifier in Bamako. The two West African nations would lock horns on June 6 as they get back on World Cup qualification business following a lengthy break.

Mali is currently second in Group I with four points from 2 matches after winning against Chad and drawing against Central Africa Republic on match days 1 and 2 respectively. Ghana on the other hand has more work to do having lost their second match to group leaders, Comoros.

Omar Amin Mohamed will be assisted by Abouelregal Mahmoud Ahmed Kamel Ahmed and Ibrahim Ahmed Hossameldin Taha, both Egyptians, on lines 1 and 2 respectively. The Egyptian set will be completed by Hassan Elghandour Ahmed, the Fourth official.

In their company is Abid Charef Mehdi from Algeria serving as a Referee Assessor while Balde Yaya from Senegal will oversee duties as a Match Commissioner. Dao Brahim of Mauritania will be responsible for the Security Officer’s duties.

Mali vs Ghana will be played on June 6 at the Stade 26 Mars in Bamako. After that, the two teams will face Madagascar and the Central Africa Republic respectively.
