Popular Ghanaian YouTuber Wode Maya recently had a memorable encounter with former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan during a flight.
The content creator couldn’t hide his excitement after sharing a seat next to the respected statesman. Wode Maya posted a photo of himself with Jonathan, both seated on the same flight.
The former president, known for his calm demeanor and trademark kaftan and hat, warmly welcomed the YouTuber beside him.
“It’s a great pleasure flying with His Excellency Goodluck Jonathan,” Wode Maya shared on social media.
Jonathan, who led Nigeria from 2010 to 2015, remains one of Africa’s most influential political figures. Even after leaving office, he continues to champion peace and democracy across the continent, often leading international election observer missions in countries like Zambia, Sierra Leone, and Tanzania.
During his presidency, Jonathan launched the Transformational Agenda, which boosted Nigeria’s economy and positioned it as the largest in Africa. Many still regard him as one of Nigeria’s finest leaders.
Fans flooded Wode Maya’s post with admiration, praising both men. One user said, “Flying alongside His Excellency is no small feat, you’re moving with greatness.” Another wrote, “He’s rich in connections, and that alone brings success.”
This isn’t the first time Wode Maya has connected with global leaders. He previously met Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Mottley during the Crop Over Festival and earlier in Ghana during her official visit.
