The Brong Ahafo Youth Wing of the opposition National Democratic Congress led by Efo Worlanyo Tsekop has launched a campaign dubbed “Winning Election 2020 In 2019” at the just ended NDC Youth Summit at the Kintampo School of Health in the Brong Ahafo Region.
The summit which was held on 18th to 19th January 2019 saw the General Secretary, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia; National Women Organizer, Dr. Hanna Bisiw; and the Brong Ahafo Regional Chairman of the party, Mr. Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo being the speaker.
The two-day event which was attended by all the Constituency Youth Organizers of the NDC in the Brong Ahafo Region was aimed at energizing the youth leadership in the Region, give them the opportunity to interact with the National Leadership and help them better understand the party’s strategies towards winning election 2020.
The Youth Wing of the NDC used the opportunity to launch their project “Winning Election 2020 in 2019” which seeks to mobilize the youth in the region for an effective grassroots campaign.
Speaking to Awake News after the event, the Brong Ahafo NDC Youth Organizer, Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo said, the leadership of the Regional Youth Wing believes the party can only win the 2020 elections if enough efforts are put into that 2020 agenda earlier enough.
For him, it will not be prudent to wait until 2020 to start the campaign, so, he will mobilize the youth in the region to start the grassroots campaign this year and make sure they might have covered the entire region by 2020 when the national campaign starts.
“We believe we have to start the campaign now as youth to help us take our message of rescuing this nation from the bad governance of the Nana Addo/Bawumia led NPP this 2019” – He told Awake News
“When are able to cover the region this 2019, all we have to do as a youth in 2020 is to follow our elders to the grassroots to further cement our message” – He explains
According to him, irrespective of the high level of corruption, mismanagement, insecurity, non-performance of this supper-incompetent Nana Akufo-Addo/Bawumia led NPP government, the NDC as a party has a lot to do to be able to rescue Ghanaians from the current hardship and “we must start now we can’t wait until 2020”.
