The Managing Editor of the Whatsup Newspaper, David Sitsope Tamakloe has been arrested at gunpoint by men claiming to be from National Security – this is according to Dzifa Gunu in a Facebook post sighted by Awake News.

Information about the reason for his arrest is yet not confirmed but the post by Mr. Gunu suggests that is in connection with a publication he made today about the Railways Minister, Peter Amewu.

According to Mr. Gunu, “Information gathered so far suggests that he has been taken to the CID headquarters.” adding that “The Akufo-Addo government is still abusing journalists critical of it, to the extent that his Minister for Railways, Peter Amewu can use state power to cause arrest without due process.”

Mr. David Tameklo is facing the second arrest in less than one year over his journalism work. On October 7, 2020, he was arrested over the publication he made in connection with 2020 Voters Registration exercise.
