The Bono East National Democratic Congress(NDC) has issued a press statement debunking  “a widely circulated misinformation about the Techiman South Parliamentary Election.

According to them, the said “malicious and mischievous publication carried out by some print media especially Daily Guide , the impression is being created that, the NDC has withdrawn a suit brought against the EC from the High court for luck of evidence”.

They stated “unequivocally that, the NDC as a party has not filed any suit in court against the EC on the Techiman South Parliamentary Elections let alone withdrawing same. We therefore urge the general public to dismiss the said malicious publication with all the contempt it deserves”.

Bringing the facts to bear, the NDC noted that, “A citizen of Ghana who is a member of the NDC decided to go to court to compel the EC to do what is expected of them as the law establish, this happened at the early stage of the confusion before the NDC legal team even came into the region for their facts finding mission”.

They further emphasized the NDC’s  “legal team led by Lawyer Victor Kwadjoga Adawudu filed a petition to the EC for re -collation and submission of the results declaration sheet as it claims it has declared the results, after their facts finding mission in the Bono East region concerning the Techiman South and the Sene West Parliamentary Elections. The citizen who filed the said suit in the High court decided to withdraw his suit to pave way for the NDC petition filed by the legal team to be considered by the EC as the first legitimate means”.

The NDC admonished that “any attempt by the pro NPP media house or their surrogates to twist the facts for their political expediency will not see the light of the day. We are by this release calling on those media houses to desist from publishing such malicious and fabricated stories just to please their pay masters”, the statement read.

Expressing their level of certainty on getting the verdict in their favor, they said, “the NDC is poise to use all legitimate means to make sure that, the Techiman South Parliamentary Seat is declared for our Candidate Mr. Christopher Baasongti Bayere, because he won the Seat convincely based on the evidence available to us on the face of all the pink sheets in our possession. We want to assure and urge all our teaming members, Supporters and sympathizers to remain calm and resolute. We are confidence that both Techiman South and Sene West Seats will be declared for the NDC”.

RE – NDC WITHDRAWS CASE BROUGHT AGAINST THE EC ON TECHIMAN SOUTH PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS FROM THE HIGH COURT, SAYS IT HAS NO EVIDENCE TO PURSUE THE CASE.

The attention of the Bono East NDC has been drawn to a widely circulated misinformation about the Techiman South Parliamentary Election. We want to state unequivocally that, the NDC as a party has not filed any suit in court against the EC on the Techiman South Parliamentary Elections let alone withdrawing same . We therefore urge the general public to dismiss the said malicious publication with all the contempt it deserves.
