According to her, the lawyers for Mr Gyakye Quayson failed to prove beyond all reasonable doubt in their case hence the dismissal.

“On the issue of the decision restraining the 1st defendant from holding himself out as an MP, the 1st defendant through his lawyers have failed to clearly surmount the conditions. So we are very happy with it,” she told journalists after hearing on Tuesday June 14.

Mr Gyakye Quayson resorted to the supreme Court to overturn the restraining orders filed against him by private citizen Michael Ankomah Nimfah.

Lead Counsel for the Assin North MP Tsatsu Tsikata prayed the court to “protect the judicial integrity of this court by reviewing this decision”.

But Counsel for Ankomah Nimfah Frank Davis kicked against the application, arguing that no case doest not contained any substance by the applicant to push for a review of the court’s decision.

However, the apex court had in a 5-2 majority ruled out on April 13, restrained him from holding himself as an MP and undertaking parliamentary duties.
