The Vice Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has told Ghanaians that an NDC government would prioritize a housing scheme to a cathedral.
Speaking at her outdooring ceremony at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, she said Ghana is at its lowest as affordable housing has become an expensive commodity for Ghanaians.
“We prioritize housing like the famous Saglemi Housing Project to that of a cathedral,” she said.
“A multi-million-dollar dugout; I don’t know about you but the image I get looking at the trench is that of a hole in utter shock that anyone could believe it was intended as a thanksgiving gift to the Almighty, Invisible, God Only Wise,” she remarked.
As a campaign promise to Ghanaian Christians and God, the current administration embarked on the National Cathedral project despite many critical questions by a large section of the population.
Government has so far sunk over 40 million dollars in the cathedral project which has been mired with financial malfeasance and other challenges. There has been no progress after big excavation was made for foundation. The Ghanaian public have tagged it the most expensive galamsey pit ever.
