The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said the party’s parliamentary candidate for the Techiman South Constituency, Christopher Beyere Baasongti in the December 7, 2020 polls has won with 50,306 votes

At a press conference in Accra after the Minority Caucus in Parliament has presented a petition to the Electoral Commissioner, the party said after collating the results from 267polling station pinks sheets the NDC’s candidate had 50,306 whiles NPP’s Martin Akyi-Mensah Korsah had 50,013 votes.

If readers can recall, the Electoral Commission’s Chair, Jean Mensa whiles announcing the 2020 Presidential results said the Techniman South results were not part of the figures she was declaring saying the constituency results are being disputed.

However, the NDC from onset maintains they have won the seat.

On the voting day, the constituency’s collation center witnessed violent incident leading to the shooting and killing one person with some others injured.
