We will proceed with our planned picketing – Elikem Kotoko to Police

Elikem Kotoko, the lead petitioner in the petition for the removal of the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Mensa has responded to the Greater Accra Regional Police Command, indicating that they will proceed with the picketing as planned.

“We by this letter wish to state that, we will proceed with our planned special event on Wednesday 24th February 2021 as stated in our earlier letter” – Elikem Kotoko said

They also noted that they are “fully aware of the restrictions imposed under Executive Instruction (E.I) 395 as a result of Covid-19, may you be assured that our crowd at each of the stated centers will remain within the allowance number for public gathering as announced by the president”.

The petitioners admonished the Police to “desist from arrogating any non-existing powers to the police service or any attempt to usurp the constitutional powers of the service, let us all be guided, guarded and do our best to make the law supreme”.
