During the visit, he asked the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and other state agencies to increase commitment towards relief provision for victims of the disaster.

Mr Mahama was accompanied by some NDC National Executives and Members of Volta Causes in Parliament.

Last week, a tidal wave caused havoc in that part of the country. At the time that the disaster has rendered over 4000 people homeless, the country President Akufo Addo has announced seven days leave and left the country for France.
