Gilbert Akakpo, a form 3 Visual Arts student who stabbed Mr. John Kwashi Akey, an ICT Tutor in Three Town Senior High School, Denu has been granted bail to enable him write his final examinations.

As a result, teachers of the school have withdrawn their services and have refused to invigilate during the WASSCE till the student is made to face the full rigors of the law.

In a statement, the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), said that they support the decision of the teachers and urged the Director General, the Regional Director and the Municipal Directors of Education to stand in solidarity with the Teacher rather than issue threats against the teachers.

In furtherance, the union said that “it will not standby idle whilst Teachers are being attacked by their students throughout the country”.
