The walk started from the Volta Regional Hospital through the station and Ola street. The participants finally converged at Civic Center for the launch of NASPA Week.

The ceremony was chaired by Mr. Korsi Senyo, the Executive Director of the African Centre for Peace Building. In his acceptance speech, he charged the youth to invest their time and resource to acquire knowledge. He said it is the only way they –the youth can come out of school with the required skills to help develop the nation and themselves.

“Invest your time and resources in acquiring knowledge while in school but not chase that paper call certificate. Sacrifice your youthful energies to acquire knowledge so you can apply them in solving problems confronting our dear nation when you graduate. Chase that paper and you will come out to become a useless graduate hence become the tool to be used by politicians and so called ‘big men’ to front violence in exchange of positive opportunities ” Korsi Senyo said.

He also used the opportunity to advise the youth to desist from all forms of violence as the November elections approaches.

“one thing we the youth and politicians must all know is elections are not battle fields where only guns and bullet determine the winner. Elections are just a process of choosing our leaders who will complement efforts in solving our societal problems” he explains.

Hon. Benjamin Kpodo, MP for the Ho Central Constituency who was the Guest of honour also advises the youth not to engage in any act that will destabilize the peace Ghana is enjoying.
