The Volta Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress NDC, Mr. Gyapond Kwadwo has refuted claims that the defeat of the NDC in the 2016 general elections was as a result of voter apathy in the Volta region.
[ads1]Addressing members of the party at the Volta regional delegates conference in Ho today, Chairman Kwadwo said, the Volta NDC did far better as compared to other regions. In his assertion, the regional executives did a great job and must be commended for their efforts.
“I want to defer on the notion that we (Volta NDC) caused our defeat in the last elections, that assertion is not true.
We presented 26 parliamentary candidates here in the region and we won all but one, out of the total. How then do you say we have caused our defeat?”
“I do not want to accept that tagging, we did well. We contributed a lot to the elections and even after the elections, we are doing well.”
Mr. Gyapond Kwadwo is seeking re-election as the regional Chairman against a former Transport Minister, Madam Dzifa Aku Attivor.
