Ghana head coach Otto Addo has announced a 23-man squad for the 2025 Unity Cup in London, with notable absentees Thomas Partey and Mohammed Kudus missing out.

Deputy captain Thomas Partey, who recently scored in Ghana’s World Cup qualifier against Madagascar, has been left out of the squad. The tournament kicks off just three days after the Premier League season ends, which may have influenced his omission.

Mohammed Kudus, who scored on the final day of the season for West Ham, is also unavailable. Other players missing from the squad include Antoine Semenyo, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and Inaki Williams.

Five players have earned their first national call-ups, including promising Barcelona youngster Abdul Aziz Issah. The selection presents an opportunity for these debutants to make their mark on the senior team.

Some experienced players are also returning to the squad. Abdul Salis Samed is back after recovering from injury, Kwame Opoku receives his first call-up since 2021, and Felix Afena-Gyan returns for the first time since 2022.

Core members of the team have been retained, including captain Jordan Ayew, Gideon Mensah, Mohammed Salisu, and Benjamin Asare.

The Unity Cup features four teams: Ghana, Nigeria, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago. The Black Stars will face Nigeria on May 28. The winner will move on to the final, while the loser will play for third place. The team is already in London preparing for the tournament.
