Communicators of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) passed several comments about Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang after the NDC unveiled her as the party’s vice presidential candidate. Most of the comments relate to her time as Minister for Education. They accused her of not performing well while in charge of the ministry and left capitation grants in arrears.

In a rebuttal, the North Tongu lawmaker published documents obtained from parliament to prove that Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang did not leave capitation grants in arrears.

“From this parliamentary report, Akufo-Addo’s Minister of Education made submissions to the Education Committee actually confirming that Capitation Grants for all three terms in the 2015/2016 academic year were duly released in 2016 to 5,626,118 pupils of ALL public basic schools when Prof. Opoku-Agyemang served as Minister of Education,” Ablakwa stated.
